Applied Human Resource Research

Our recent survey of members of the Gulf Talent Advisory Board (GTAB) has provided a unique insight into the opportunities and challenges businesses are facing in the Gulf - and how to use them to build future competitive advantage. We have decided to run a masterclass/workshop in Abu Dhabi on the 24th/25th March to share our findings and key recommendations with you (see PDF for details). We are greatly honoured that His Excellency Nasser Al Sowaidi, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development has agreed to be the Patron of the event. The masterclass is entitled "Building for the future: Creating competitive advantage" and will explore advanced approaches to building strategic success through innovation (Blue Ocean Strategy) and talent (Strategic Capabilities). We will define the most important issues whilst providing some practical steps that you can take to achieve your aims.

The Centre for Applied HR Research in Oxford, UK, brings together highly qualified academics with leading organisations to carry out applied research in areas that will make a real difference to organisational performance and strategy.

Drawing on the expertise of top researchers and strategic consultants, together with the practical experiences and knowledge of major organisations, the Centre plays a key role in providing up to date guidance in areas of high impact.

The Advisory Board consists of invited senior business leaders from global public and private organisations, who set the Centre's research agenda. The members benefit from research outputs, individual research projects, networking and 'state of the art' meetings as well as 'fast response' - a way to rapidly gain a view of the latest thinking on any subject.
